........The museum collection is wealth and it is the basis for all the museum work. The Aizkraukle History and Art Museum started its collection work on September 5, 1968. Made Svile-Peņģerotes (Kristīnes prototype in Rūdolfs Blaumaniss novels) handicraft box is the first item in the museum collection.
At present the museum collection is over eighty thousands units.
The collection consists of:
jewelry, arms, tools, components for building, coins;
fragments of pottery, stove tiles;
farming, fishery, craft tools of the 19th and 20th centuries;
household items, clothes of the 19th and 20th centuries;
memorial items of important countrymen of the 19th and 20th centuries;
evidences of historical events in photos, printed matter and documents of the 19th and 20th centuries;
banknotes, coins, clads, awards;
the works of artists: paintings, graphic works, sculptures.
